IMF's Gender Strategy Presentation

April 29 – 30, 2024

The IMF’s Strategy, Policy, and Review Department held the IMF’s Gender Strategy Presentation at the Bank of Thailand on April 29 – 30, 2024. The event was organized by the IMF’s Capacity Development Office in Thailand (CDOT). The presentation covered macrocritical gender pertaining to IMF surveillance during fiscal year 2023 – 2024, toolkits, examples of works, and policy recommendations. The event also included discussion and experience sharing from participants.

There were about 30 participants from 6 organizations in Thailand, namely Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ministry of Finance, Bank of Thailand, Mae Fah Luang Foundation, Pavena Foundation for Children and Women, and World Bank.

 

 

IMF’s World Economic Outlook Presentation

May 3, 2024

The IMF’s Research Department held the IMF’s World Economic Outlook Presentation at the Bank of Thailand on May 3, 2024. The event was co-hosted by the Bank of Thailand and organized by the IMF’s Capacity Development Office in Thailand (CDOT). The presentation provided an insight of IMF projections for the global economy as well as deep-dive analyses on key topics, including the housing channels of monetary policy transmission and the decline in medium-term growth prospects. The event also catalyzed exchanging experiences and views to strengthen Thailand, regional, and global economies.

There were about 50 participants from 11 organizations, including Vice Minister for Industry of Thailand and high-level representatives from Thai authorities, private sector, and international organizations.

 

 

January 12, 2023: IMF Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Antoinette Monsio Sayeh visited the IMF Capacity Development Office in Thailand (CDOT)

IMF DMD Antoinette Monsio Sayeh met with CDOT to discuss the center's important work in the region. Established in 2012, CDOT has been serving Cambodia, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Myanmar and Vietnam-with their work being supported by the governments of Japan and Thailand. CDOT also often collaborates with other regional centers, including the IMF-Singapore Training Institute (STI), South Asia Training and Technical Assistance Center (SARTTAC), and the IMF Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (OAP) in Tokyo.

IMF MD Kristalina Georgieva met with CDOT to discuss the center's important work in the region.
